Real estate is never static — and neither is the firm founded by Dan Perkins and Drew Levin. Built on the belief that markets evolve, opportunities shift, and strategies must adapt, the company approaches real estate as an ongoing journey defined by disciplined execution, thoughtful development, and a commitment to creating lasting value.
Dan and Drew met at the University of Florida, where they quickly bonded over their shared drive to build and create. Their first venture together launched in 2004 — an online social entertainment platform called YFly.com. While the business ultimately failed in 2007 due to rapid growth that outpaced its technology infrastructure, the experience shaped their entrepreneurial mindset and reinforced a lasting belief in resilience, innovation, and learning through execution.
In 2008, recognizing opportunity in the aftermath of the U.S. housing market collapse, they founded their real estate company and began acquiring and operating single-family rental homes. What started as a focused investment strategy grew into a portfolio of more than 350 single-family rentals, establishing the operational discipline and design-driven approach that would define their future work.
In 2013, Dan and Drew inked a deal with HGTV to follow them as they renovated and rented homes with their design influence. The show: "Renovate to Rent" was a hit success. Over three years of filming - the pair starred in two seasons of the hit primetime show. As markets evolved, so did the firm's strategy. In 2015, building on their experience in rental operations, Dan and Drew expanded into multifamily development, delivering more than 900 units across the Minneapolis metro.
In 2020, the firm recognized shifting macroeconomic conditions and changing market dynamics that were making traditional multifamily and value-add strategies less compelling. Rather than remain tied to a single approach, the team made a deliberate decision to reposition the platform — shifting its geographic focus to the Carolinas and pursuing large-scale master-planned communities in high-growth markets.
This strategy centers on creating value by transforming raw land into entitled and improved residential communities. Since then, the firm has acquired nearly 1,000 acres across five projects and successfully entitled more than 3,000 residential units within its master-planned communities.
Today, the firm operates as a multi-disciplinary real estate platform focused on multifamily development and scaled master-planned communities, guided by a belief that success in real estate requires constant evolution, disciplined decision-making, and a willingness to pursue opportunity wherever it emerges.
In recognition of their entrepreneurial leadership, Dan Perkins and Drew Levin were named Minnesota’s Young Entrepreneurs of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
